One of our priority projects at Hidden Valley Farm is to develop the 'farm to table' experience within our increasingly popular Cafe Escondido at Monteverde Inn. Many of the vegetables, herbs, and salad leaves are grown organically from our permaculture gardens are used in daily plates and we are working to expand this. Whenever possible other ingredients from the kitchen are purchased locally.

With its open front overlooking the green and the majestic Pacific gulf beyond, the cafe is a relaxed place to enjoy a smoothie and lunch after a hike. In the evening's visitors can watch the sun setting and enjoy a more romantic ambiance.

Costa Rican classic dishes like the casado are offered, as well as pizza from the wood-fired oven, international favorites and the evening dish of the day. Custom-prepared picnic baskets are also available to enjoy in one of our garden areas.
